What to see in Puerto Vallarta

1. Malecón
   The Malecón is the seafront promenade that links the historic center to the ocean, and it is where Puerto Vallarta gathers at the end of the day.
2. Zona Romántica & Playa Los Muertos
   The Zona Romántica is the liveliest part of southern Puerto Vallarta, where cobbled streets, terraces and the broad sweep of Los Muertos beach all sit within walking distance.
3. Îles Marietas (excursion)
   This uninhabited archipelago off the Bahía de Banderas is a protected natural area, a place for watching marine life and seabirds away from the pace of the coast.
4. Yelapa (bateau)
   Yelapa is a fishing village on the southern edge of Banderas Bay with no road access.
5. Église Notre-Dame de Guadalupe
   With its brick bell tower topped by a large crown, this church is one of the most recognizable landmarks in central Puerto Vallarta.
6. Jardin botanique de Vallarta
   Set 400 meters above sea level, away from the heat of the coast, this 8-hectare garden shows the region's tropical dry forest alongside plants from around the world.
7. Observation des baleines (déc.–mars)
   Every winter, humpback whales travel from the cold waters of the North Pacific to Banderas Bay, where they mate and give birth.
8. Marché municipal Río Cuale
   This covered market on the banks of the Río Cuale is a place where the town goes about its everyday life, far from the seafront shops.
