What to see in Phuket

1. Vieille ville de Phuket
   Away from the beaches, Phuket's old quarter keeps streets of colorful Sino-Portuguese shophouses left over from the tin and rubber boom.
2. Plage de Patong
   This is the big, lively bay on Phuket's west coast, where swimmers, vendors, bars and Andaman Sea sunsets all share the same stretch of sand.
3. Grand Bouddha
   Set on a hilltop in the south of the island, this seated white Buddha can be seen from far away and watches over the whole region.
4. Plage de Kata
   A long bay of fine sand opening onto the Andaman Sea, with a more relaxed feel than the busiest beaches on the island.
5. Cap Promthep
   Promthep Cape marks the southern tip of Phuket, where the island juts out into the Andaman Sea.
6. Îles Phi Phi (excursion)
   This Andaman Sea archipelago brings together limestone cliffs dropping into turquoise water, sheltered lagoons and white sand coves.
7. Wat Chalong
   This is the most revered Buddhist temple on Phuket, and it remains a living place of worship where locals come to pray, leave flowers and ask for protection.
8. Marché de nuit de Naka
   This is where Phuket residents come to shop and eat on weekends, far from the beach resort scene.
