What to see in Bangkok

  1. Grand Palais & Wat Phra Kaew
Wat Phra Kaew is Thailand's most sacred temple, set inside the walls of the Grand Palace, and it shows both the devotion and the splendor of Thai art in a single visit.
  2. Wat Pho
Wat Pho is one of the oldest temples in Bangkok, and most people come for its enormous reclining Buddha.
  3. Wat Arun
On the west bank of the Chao Phraya, this temple is recognisable by its tall central prang, a slender tower covered in porcelain fragments and seashells that catch the light.
  4. Marché de Chatuchak
Chatuchak is a vast maze of covered lanes where Bangkok locals hunting for bargains, independent makers and curious travellers from everywhere cross paths.
  5. Khao San Road
This street of barely 410 metres has become a meeting point for travellers from all over the world, a cheerful jumble of stalls, music and terraces.
  6. Chinatown (Yaowarat)
Bangkok's Chinatown is a dense maze of lanes, gilded signs, temples and traders, where you can feel the city running at full speed.
  7. Jim Thompson House
This is the home of an American who fell for Thailand, revived its silk industry and gathered a fine collection of Southeast Asian art.
  8. Parc Lumphini
Set among the towers of Silom and Ratchadamri, this large park is a real pocket of green and calm.
