What to see in Adelaide

1. Adelaide Central Market
   One of the oldest markets in Australia, this covered hall is the pantry of central Adelaide, and people come as much to wander as to shop.

   About an hour from Adelaide, the Barossa is one of Australia's great wine regions, best known for its shiraz.

   A short crossing south of Adelaide, this large wild island brings sea lions, koalas, kangaroos and ocean-carved coastline into a single trip.
4. Jardin botanique d'Adélaïde
   The garden sits in the north-east corner of the city centre, at the end of North Terrace, and gives you a proper green break a short walk from the museums and the university.
5. Glenelg (plage)
   Glenelg is the beach Adelaide locals head to as soon as the weather allows, with a long stretch of fine sand facing Gulf St Vincent.
6. Adelaide Oval (RoofClimb)
   This guided, harnessed climb over the roof of the Western Stand gives you a view of Adelaide you can't get anywhere else.
7. Art Gallery of South Australia
   Set on North Terrace in Adelaide's cultural precinct, this gallery brings together Aboriginal art, Australian art from every period, and European and Asian works.
8. Mont Lofty
   From the summit you take in the whole Adelaide plain, from the grid of the city centre out to the curve of Gulf St Vincent.
