What to see in Hoi An
- Vieille ville & Pont japonais
A former trading port of the Far East, Hội An's old town has kept its timber houses, narrow lanes and tiled roofs, and is best explored on foot, with no cars in its central streets. - Plage d'An Bang
A few kilometres from the old town, An Bang is a long stretch of sand where you trade the bustle of the lanes for a seaside pace, with fishing boats and beach huts lined up along the shore. - Marché de Hoi An
This is where the town goes about its daily life, well away from the lantern-lit staging of the old quarter. - Sanctuaire de My Son (excursion)
Set in a wooded valley ringed by hills, this site holds the remains of brick towers built by the kings of Champa to honour Shiva and their ancestors. - Village de Tra Que
A few kilometres from the old town, this farming village is a quiet green break away from the busy lanes. - Lanternes & rivière Thu Bon (barque)
In the evening the Thu Bon river mirrors the silk lanterns of the old town, and a small boat puts you right at water level, away from the crowds on the embankment. - Musée d'Histoire et de Culture
This small museum in the old town gives you the keys to reading Hội An: how a riverside village became an international trading port. - Morning Glory
Morning Glory is one of the best-known restaurants in Hoi An's old town, valued for clean, carefully prepared Vietnamese cooking served in a setting that keeps the feel of a townhouse in the historic quarter.
