What to see in Vancouver

1. Stanley Park & Seawall
   A forest of tall conifers set right on the ocean, a few minutes from the downtown towers of Vancouver.
2. Granville Island Public Market
   Housed in former industrial sheds on the peninsula, this covered market gathers growers, fishmongers, bakers and small food stalls under one roof.
3. Capilano Suspension Bridge
   A 140 metre suspension bridge that sways 70 metres above the Capilano River, set in dense temperate rainforest.
4. Gastown
   Gastown is Vancouver's oldest neighbourhood, and you feel it the moment cobblestones and brick facades take over from the glass towers of downtown.
5. Grouse Mountain
   A few minutes by gondola take you from the city to the top of a North Shore mountain, with Vancouver, Burrard Inlet and the Pacific laid out below.
6. Musée d'anthropologie (UBC)
   Arthur Erickson's concrete and glass building draws on the post-and-beam houses of the Northwest Coast and opens onto the ocean and the mountains.
7. Kitsilano Beach
   A wide sandy beach in the middle of a residential neighbourhood, facing English Bay with the North Shore mountains and the downtown towers behind it.
8. Queen Elizabeth Park
   The park sits on top of Little Mountain, the highest point in the city, with a wide view of the downtown towers and the North Shore mountains behind them.
