What to see in Banff

1. Lac Louise
   A milky turquoise lake, colored by the glacial rock flour that meltwater carries into it, ringed by mountains and closed off at the far end by Victoria Glacier.
2. Lac Moraine
   Moraine Lake spreads its turquoise water beneath the Ten Peaks, a ring of summits that closes in around it.
3. Banff Gondola (Sulphur Mountain)
   The gondola lifts you in a few minutes above the Bow Valley to a summit that takes in the town of Banff and the ranges all around it.
4. Banff Upper Hot Springs
   This high-altitude outdoor pool, the highest hot spring in Canada, lets you float in warm water facing the valley and Mount Rundle.
5. Johnston Canyon
   A trail of metal catwalks bolted to the canyon walls lets you walk above a turquoise torrent, deep in a narrow, cool gorge.
6. Lac Minnewanka
   It is the largest lake in Banff National Park, a long stretch of water hemmed in by rocky ridges just minutes from town.
7. Vermilion Lakes
   Just minutes from the town of Banff, this chain of lakes mirrors Mount Rundle and feels far removed from everything else.
8. Icefields Parkway (Peyto Lake)
   From this viewpoint on the Icefields Parkway, you look down on a milky turquoise lake, colored by the glacial rock flour carried in by meltwater.
