What to see in Saint-Louis
- Île de Saint-Louis (patrimoine UNESCO)
This narrow island, linked to the mainland by a metal bridge, was the capital of French West Africa, and its colonial façades with wrought iron balconies still show that past. - Pont Faidherbe
It is the only bridge linking the mainland to the historic island of Saint-Louis, and it still marks the threshold of the town: crossing it on foot or by taxi is the first step into the colonial streets and the fishing quarter of Guet Ndar. - Parc national de la Langue de Barbarie
The park occupies a long, narrow strip of sand between the Senegal River and the Atlantic, just north of Saint-Louis. - Djoudj (parc ornithologique)
The park covers part of the Senegal River delta, a maze of channels, reed beds and lagoons where migratory birds come to winter. - Village de pêcheurs de Guet Ndar
Guet Ndar is a fishing neighbourhood built on the sandbar that separates the Senegal River from the Atlantic. - Musée de la Photographie (MuPho)
The first museum in Senegal and in West Africa entirely dedicated to photography, it offers a clear window onto how the image has developed in the region. - Hydrobase (plage)
This beach takes its name from the former seaplane base of Saint-Louis, a stop on the Aéropostale route across the South Atlantic. - Marché de Sor
