What to see in Cappadocia

1. Musée en plein air de Göreme
   This site brings together chapels and refectories carved into volcanic tuff and decorated with Byzantine frescoes.
2. Vol en montgolfière (Göreme)
   Floating at sunrise over Göreme's fairy chimneys, tuff valleys and cave villages gives you a view of the whole landscape that you can't get from the ground.
3. Vallée de l'Amour & Vallée Rouge
   These two neighbouring valleys sum up Cappadocia on foot: slender fairy chimneys with unexpected shapes in Love Valley, and ochre and rust-coloured cliffs in Red Valley.
4. Uçhisar (citadelle)
   This huge tuff outcrop, hollowed out with galleries and rooms like a piece of Swiss cheese, is one of the highest points in the region.
5. Ville souterraine de Derinkuyu
   Derinkuyu is one of the largest underground cities in Cappadocia, a maze of passages and rooms carved level by level into soft volcanic rock.
6. Vallée d'Ihlara
   This deep, green, cool gorge is a sharp contrast to the dry landscapes around it, and it shows a quieter side of Cappadocia, away from the busiest sites.
7. Topdeck Cave Restaurant
   This small family-run restaurant sits on the ground floor of a Göreme house, in a cave that used to be a stable.
8. Dibek
   Dibek fills a stone house about 475 years old in the centre of Göreme, restored and laid out like a family home.
