What to see in Guangzhou

  1. Canton Tower
Its twisted, open lattice form narrows at the middle, which earned it the affectionate nickname "little waist".
  2. Temple ancestral de la famille Chen
Built in the late nineteenth century by Chen families from across Guangdong province, this ancestral hall is one of the finest showcases of Cantonese architecture and craftsmanship.
  3. Île de Shamian
This small island on the Pearl River keeps the quiet streets and European-style buildings of its concession past, a sharp contrast with the bustle of Guangzhou just across the water.
  4. Temple de Guangxiao
This is one of the oldest Buddhist temples in Guangzhou, and one of the best places to feel the city's religious history.
  5. Mausolée du roi de Nanyue
You step down into the tomb of a king who ruled the Canton region in the 2nd century BC, cut into the rock of a hill in the middle of the city.
  6. Parc Yuexiu
This is the big green lung of central Guangzhou, built over hills where city legends, old wall remains and shaded paths come together.
  7. Rue piétonne Shangxiajiu
This long pedestrian street in Guangzhou's Xiguan district is lined with old arcaded buildings, so you can walk in shade and out of the rain.
