What to see in Riyadh

1. Diriyah (At-Turaif)
   At-Turaif is the historic heart of Diriyah, the former capital of the first Saudi state founded in the 18th century.
2. Fort Masmak
   This fort of mud brick, with thick walls and four corner towers, is the oldest surviving building in central Riyadh.
3. Kingdom Centre (Sky Bridge)
   The Kingdom Tower dominates the skyline of Riyadh and has become a landmark of the city.
4. Musée national
   The museum traces the long history of the Arabian Peninsula, from prehistory and the ancient kingdoms to the building of the modern Saudi state.
5. Souq Al Zal
   Souq Al Zal is one of Riyadh's traditional markets, set in the historic heart of the city.
6. Edge of the World (excursion)
   The edge of the Tuwaiq plateau drops abruptly into a vast desert plain, and the colour of the rock shifts with the light through the day.
7. Boulevard Riyadh City
   This large 89-hectare complex combines high-end shops and entertainment, and it comes fully alive during Riyadh Season, when much of the city comes out in the evening.
8. AlUla (Hegra, excursion)
   Hegra is the largest Nabataean site preserved outside Petra, with monumental tombs carved directly into rose-coloured sandstone cliffs.
