What to see in Lomé

1. Marché des Féticheurs (Akodessewa)
   This is one of the most distinctive places in the Lomé area, where traditional medicine and vodun practices are on display within an ordinary commercial setting.
2. Grand Marché de Lomé
   This is the commercial heart of Lomé, a dense maze of stalls where much of the city seems to pass through.
3. Plage de Lomé
   This is where the Togolese capital meets the Gulf of Guinea.
4. Cathédrale du Sacré-Cœur
   Built between 1901 and 1902 under the German colonial administration, it is the mother church of the Archdiocese of Lomé and one of the oldest landmarks of the Togolese capital.

   This monument honours Togo's independence from France, gained on 27 April 1960.
