What to see in Limassol

  1. Château de Limassol
This block of stone in the middle of Limassol's old town, a short walk from the old port, is a reminder that the city has a medieval past long before its glass towers.
  2. Kourion (site antique)
Set on a cliff above the bay, Kourion pairs Greco-Roman ruins with a wide view over the Mediterranean.
  3. Marina de Limassol
The marina is a seafront district designed for strolling, where you walk along the quays among moored yachts.
  4. Vieille ville & Marché municipal
In a few streets, this area brings together the working Limassol and the strolling one: a covered market where locals do their shopping, and old lanes a short walk from the old port.
  5. Molos (promenade)
This long promenade, built on reclaimed land, is Limassol's big open breathing space and one of the city's symbols.
  6. Plage de Lady's Mile
A long strip of grey sand and fine pebbles west of Limassol, much calmer and more open than the city's seafront beaches.
  7. Monastère Saint-Nicolas des Chats
At the end of the Akrotiri peninsula, this small Orthodox monastery takes its name from a legend: cats were said to have been brought here to hunt the snakes that overran the island.
  8. Ta Piatakia
Ta Piatakia, meaning "little plates", was the restaurant of chef and TV presenter Roddy Damalis, tucked away on a quiet residential street in Limassol.
