What to see in Bridgetown

1. Carlisle Bay
   A calm, sheltered bay a short walk from central Bridgetown, where you go from city streets to clear water almost without noticing.
2. Garrison historique (UNESCO)
   This British military quarter, listed by UNESCO together with the historic centre of Bridgetown, is one of the best preserved colonial ensembles in the Caribbean.
3. Grotte Harrison's
   This water-carved limestone cave in the heart of the island is a striking contrast to Barbados's beaches.
4. Mount Gay (distillerie)
   Mount Gay is one of Barbados's great rum houses, on the island where the spirit is said to have taken shape.
5. Oistins Fish Fry (vendredi)
   On Friday evenings the Oistins seafront turns into a big open-air dinner table where fishermen, Bajan families and visitors all mix together.
6. Bathsheba (côte est)
   On Barbados's Atlantic coast, Bathsheba feels wild: huge rocks shaped by erosion rise out of a powerful sea, a world away from the calm beaches of the west coast.
7. Jardins Hunte's
   Set in the island's interior, away from the beaches, this garden fills a former limestone hollow where dense planting makes the air cool, shaded and almost secret.
8. Crane Beach
   Crane Beach is a long stretch of pale sand backed by a cliff and pounded by the Atlantic on Barbados's southeast coast.
