What to see in Belgrade

  1. Forteresse de Kalemegdan
This fortress sits above the confluence of the Sava and the Danube, where Belgrade began.
  2. Skadarlija
Skadarlija is the cobbled street where Belgrade has long nurtured its bohemian spirit, with low façades, old-style signs and terraces spilling onto the road.
  3. Temple Saint-Sava
This vast white basilica rises above the Vračar plateau and can be seen from far across Belgrade.
  4. Knez Mihailova
This is the pedestrian street where Belgrade has been taking its stroll since the 19th century, running from Republic Square to the Kalemegdan fortress.
  5. Zemun & Gardoš
Gardoš is the hill above Zemun's old town, and its tower gives one of the best views of the Danube, its islands and the rooftops of Belgrade.
  6. Ada Ciganlija
This is Belgrade's big green beach, where the whole city comes to swim, run or just unwind by the water.
  7. Musée Nikola Tesla
This small museum in a 1920s villa makes Nikola Tesla's work tangible rather than leaving it behind glass.
  8. Zeleni Venac (marché)
Zeleni venac is a neighbourhood market in the very centre of Belgrade, where locals do their everyday shopping rather than pose for visitors.
