What to see in Apia

1. To Sua Ocean Trench
   A huge turquoise swimming hole cut into volcanic rock and fed by the ocean through a lava tube, set in a garden on the south coast of Upolu.
2. Lalomanu Beach
   Lalomanu is a long stretch of white sand on the southeast coast of Upolu, facing a calm lagoon and the islets of Nu'utele and Nu'ulua.
3. Musée Robert Louis Stevenson
   This is the house where Stevenson spent the last years of his life, on the slopes of Mount Vaea above Apia.
4. Marché de Fugalei
   This is Apia's main fresh produce market, where locals come to do their weekly shopping rather than hunt for souvenirs.
5. Cascade de Papapapaitai
   The waterfall drops in a single plunge into a deep, forested valley in the hills above Apia.
6. Piula Cave Pool
   A freshwater spring wells up beneath the Methodist chapel of Piula Theological College and fills a natural pool right beside the sea.
7. Palolo Deep (réserve marine)
   A few minutes from Apia, a deep pool opens in the reef flat, and a few kicks take you from a shallow lagoon to a suddenly darker blue.
8. Sliding Rocks (Papaseea)
   In the forest above Apia, a stream has worn the volcanic rock into natural slides that drop into freshwater pools.
